Congratulations to the Maryland Rush 11G Azzurri and Maryland Rush 06/07G Royals on advancing to the USYS National League Semifinals! Last month, three Maryland Rush teams (11G, 11G Azzurri and 06/07G Royals) flew to Phoenix, AZ to participate in the 2024/25 USYS NL Quarterfinals. After three days of group play, two of our teams punched their tickets to the Semifinals.
The Royals finished the weekend 2-1 overall, scoring 13 goals and conceding just 4. The Royals posted wins over KC Athletics Academy Select 07G (MO) and Savannah United 07G Premier (GA).
The Azzurri squad also finished 2-1 overall, posting convincing wins over Legacy 11G Green (TX-S) (4-1 final) and Galaxy 11G (IL) (4-0 final). The Azzurri ended the weekend with a +5 GD.
Although they fell short of qualifying due to goal differential, the Rush 2011G squad proved to be a force, losing 0-1 to Stony Brook Force G11 (NY-E), the 2024 New York East State Champions and 2024 USYS Eastern Regional Finalist, as well as posting a 1-1 tie in game 3 to Solar 11G Hernandez (TX-N).
We look forward to cheering on the 06/07G Royals and 11G Azzurri as they compete in the USYS NL Semifinals, February 21-25th in Round Rock, TX, looking to earn a spot in the 2025 USYS National Championships.
