The Rush Fest is an annual event that brings together the U12 and U14 boys and girls' teams from Rush clubs across the country. Teams compete against one another in a friendly format while also joining up to participate in training sessions on and off the field. Top coaches from within the Rush family comprise the staff that work with the players and team coaches throughout the event. Each team will have a dedicated staff coach to learn from over the course of the Fest.
The Fest allows for coaches to identify the top players from within Rush Soccer. These players are then eligible to compete on 'Rush Select' teams at tournaments across the country.
In 2012, Maryland Rush sent 14 of its U12 girls to attend the Rush fest in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At the Rush Fest, the Maryland Rush girls spent their mornings playing games against Virginia Rush, Texas Rush, Michigan Rush and Pacific Northwest Rush (including players from Washington Rush, Oregon Rush and New Mexico Rush). The Maryland Rush girls came away with a 2-2-0 record and some great experience. The afternoons were spent in functional training and classroom session with other Rush players from around the country. The evenings were spent mixed together with the other Rush players for a sand soccer tournament and social events.
The 2013 Rush Fest will be held in Denver, Colorado for all Rush U12 and U14 boys and girls.
The Rush Summit is a three day conference for Rush Technical Directors, administrators and other staff members. Topics change from year to year but address current issues that Rush Clubs are facing with suggestions how to address and improve all aspects of each organization. In past years, the Summit was held prior to or just following the Rush Fest.
Maryland Rush Technical Director Adam Ritchie and Director of Coaching Shaun Bemis attended the Rush Summit in 2012 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
The 2013 Rush Summit will be held in the summer of 2013 in Denver Colorado in conjunction with the Rush Fest.
